Reliable Conversion Tracking Across Complex Journeys

Conversions are counted once, orders that pixels can never see are captured server-side, and the platforms, analytics and order database finally agree, so spend is optimised on data the team believes.

The story

What they were stuck on, and what we built

The problem

The purchase journey crossed a website, a third-party checkout and a payment redirect, and the tracking never survived it: some conversions fired twice, a meaningful share of real orders fired no event at all, and Meta, GA4 and the order database each told a different story nobody could trust.

What we did

We audited every event end to end and diagnosed exactly which order types bypassed the tracking, then rebuilt it: a clean GTM setup, server-side purchase events from the post-order hook, Meta CAPI with correct deduplication, and a daily reconciliation that classifies every order against its tracked journey so the gap stays measured instead of assumed.

How it was built

What we connected, automated and safeguarded

The complete system: the integrations behind it, the workflow it runs, and the controls that make it safe to rely on.

What we connected

  • Google Analytics 4
  • Google Tag Manager
  • Server-side GTM
  • Meta Conversions API
  • Google Ads
  • The order database

What we automated

  • Server-side purchase events for every order type
  • Browser and server events deduplicated correctly
  • Daily order-versus-event reconciliation
  • Tracking health monitoring with same-day alerts

Reliability & controls

  • Every order classified: tracked, recovered or explained
  • Consent Mode v2 handled properly
  • Event volumes monitored for silent breakage
  • A written spec of every event and trigger

A representative build for this use case. Yours starts from your systems, your rules and your approval points.

The result

Conversions are counted once, orders that pixels can never see are captured server-side, and the platforms, analytics and order database finally agree, so spend is optimised on data the team believes.

Numbers that reconcile

Ad platforms, analytics and the backend report the same day the same way.

Smart bidding fed real data

Complete conversions mean the platforms optimise toward actual buyers.

Breakage caught same-day

A tag that stops firing is an alert, not a month of silently bad data.
